Free flow bases can be added to the bottom of discharge octabins to aid in the emptying of the box. This essentially creates a cardboard flow bin. These cardboard bins have a sealed base made from normal heavy duty corrugated . Once opened the bases allow product to leave the Octabin in a controlled manner through a simple polythene valve, which also allows the flow of product to be stopped if required.
This control is only available in the central base discharge type of octabin. Side discharge such as the base letterbox, does not have a polythene valve and so does not allow flow control
Base cones can also be added to the central base discharge octabin to ensure that no product is left in the bottom corners of the cardboard bin. These cones arrive flat packed and can be assembled on site and then added to the base of a discharge octabin. Flat packed flow bins offer a large space saving.
