Introduction to IBC Containers
An intermediate bulk container ( IBC ) is a container used for transport of bulk materials. The construction of the IBC containers depends on the application of use, but the three main types are steel , plastic and cardboard.
Quadwall manufactures IBC containers in cardboard.
The main advantage of cardboard IBC containers is space saving in warehouses, as the IBC containers arrive flat packed. Steel and plastic IBC containers ( as shown in the photograph ) have to arrive already made, and take up a lot of room. IBC containers made from cardboard also have the advantage of being much more cost effective than steel or plastic IBC containers.
IBC containers made from cardboard are an ideal solution to export problems when the expensive steel IBC container is not returned.
When a liquid is filled into IBC containers made from cardboard a three ply plastic liner has to be fitted to contain the fluid. IBC containers form Quadwall Ltd. can hold 1000kgs AND be stacked on top of one another . One disadvantage of IBC containers made from cardboard is that they can not be stored outside in wet conditions.
If you have need of IBC containers and you will not be able to re-cycle them, IBC containers made from cardboard are the best solution.
